I purchased 2 of Sleek’s Pout Polishes in “Pink Cadillac” and “Electro Peach”. Pout Polish is a tinted lip conditioning balm formulated with natural oils such as Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Extract and Vitamin A, C and E to help condition the lips and lock in moisture. It also includes SPF 15 to help protect the lips from sun exposure. It’s available in a variety of shades and costs £4.49 for 10g of product. Excellent return on investment in my book.
Yesterday I was in a rush (story of my life) to do my makeup for a couple of business meetings and I knew I would be out most of the day. I didn’t want to look like I spent an hour making up my face because the meetings didn’t call for that type of look. I wanted my lips to be low maintenance but still be look soft and pretty. So I grabbed the “Electro Peach”pout polish. It looks super orangey in the container, but don’t be afraid. Sleek calls it “tinted” and it is, but it’s a bit more opaque than most “tinted” colours that I have used which is a good thing. I was impressed from the first swipe. I may have even done a sharp intake of breath (I’m dramatic like that) from being pleasantly surprised. The product went on smoothly and evenly with enough colour and shine to enhance my pout.
But wait, there’s more! Pout Polish is better than a lip gloss– it’s a lip conditioner. I was skeptical of the benefits because some lip conditioners or primers I have tried have felt too much like body moisturizer, so they felt thin on the lips and evaporated too soon. Some lip glosses look pretty but end up leaving my lips with a slightly sticky film and lots of dead skin that I end up rubbing off before the end of the day. Not cute. I do use a lip balm before putting any colour on my lips but I still have loads of dead skin by the middle of the day. I did not experience that with Sleek’s Pout Polish. I got about 3 hours of wear with each application of the product. Even after the colour and shine wore off, my lips were left smooth and conditioned. A lot of you (in Birmingham at least) must be aware of how fabulous this product is because I can never freakin’ find them on the shelves of Superdrug!!! In fact I didn’t bother to title this post as a “Don’t Sleep On It” because clearly you girls (and guys?) are snapping these up in droves.
BOTTOM LINE: The product does what it says: conditions the lips while providing soft colour and shine. You can’t beat the price either. This will definitely be a mainstay in my handbag!
Disclaimer: No, I don’t work for Sleek and no, they are not paying me. I bought these product with my own money. I liked it that much!
