I realise that a cross-section of people read this blog (thank you). I try not to presume that everyone is a makeup maven, nor do I want to patronise with really basic information. However, sometimes we are afraid to ask questions that we think we should already have the answers to. We all do it at some point. I can’t tell you how many women I’ve met who have never worn eyeshadow because they assume it’s complicated and has to involve four colours for success (not true). Then there are the women with super thin brows who are afraid of filling them in because they are afraid they will look fake or silly. Let’s not forget those who are trying to figure out the intersection of femininity and respect in a male dominated corporate arena. Conquering the simple stuff matters when it comes to beauty. It’s for this reason that I have decided to do a brief series on the basics. I have listed my intended topics below. However, PLEASE feel welcome to leave a topic request in the comment section, or use the more private feedback page to send me a message.

Back to Basics Topics:

Step-by-Step Brow Styling
What is Tightlining?
One Colour Eyeshadow Looks: Day & Night
The waterline: Black, White, and Colour (eyeliner)
Eyes: The Outer V
Blush: texture, tools and application

Do you have anything that you’d like me to write about? Email or leave a comment and I’ll include it in the Back to Basics series.
