Sleek’s One Finishing Powder (9gm, £7.30) is described as:
An ultra-translucent powder which sets and enhances the effects of foundation by providing a glowing, translucent finish.
The ONE Finishing Powder is ideal for all skin shades and provides an immediate cooling sensation as it is comprised of 60% water. The formulation also includes natural anti-oxidants and botanicals that nourish the skin and prevent inflammation.
Can be used to set foundations or on its own to provide a flawless, radiant glowing look. 9g
I bought this product because I longed for something that would emulate the properties of the Magic Powder that Prescriptives used to make. Ugh, the summer of 2005 was all about that powder, Juicy Tubes (my favourite shade is also defunct
), Nars’ Torrid blush and bronzed skin. I digress. Sleek’s One Finishing Powder is different from Magic powder in that it is translucent and does not impart colour.
Feel and Performance:
It feels very cool to the touch, and finely milled between the fingers. It feels cool going on my face, but doesn’t melt into my skin the way Prescriptive’s Magic Powder did. Applying too much will give a grainy look to the face. I find that I get the best application of Sleek’s powder by using a fluffy brush. When I use a powder puff to set my makeup, it gives me a slightly ashy, grainy look to my face. I’m not sure why that would be. Sleek’s One Powder applies noticeably differently from other translucent finishing powders like MAC’s Prep + Prime Finishing Powder or Laura Mercier’s Universal Setting Powder. Those have more versatility in their application.

Bottom Line:
As you can see in the photos above, Sleek’s One Finishing Powder is great for setting concealer underneath the eye. It brings a nice luminosity. However, as setting powder on darker skin, I am not thoroughly convinced of its translucence. Here’s a photo of me wearing it all over my face. I think I look a bit ashy:
Do any of you own this product and wear it as an all over setting powder?
