Last week Selfridges Birmingham (probably other locations as well) held their Daringly Beautiful evening event. I worked the counter and did makeovers for Illamasqua. I knew I wanted my eyes to be dark and dramatic, but I didn’t want to use all black. Actually, I wanted to do a version of the black swan mask that Natalie Portman wore in The Swan , but I didn’t have much time for the precision required. So I did a smokey eye using purples, oranges, golds and gunmetal gray. I love the way it turned out.
The event itself was soooooooooo much fun. The women that came were out to have a good time and try products that they otherwise would not have. The champagne flowed (not for those who were working, sadly) as did the entertainment. Selfridges brought in stilt walkers and Brazillian dancers. Check after the break for a picture collage of this look, full list of products and a brief video of the Brazilian dancers! :o).
